More than 700 years ago, in the South of France, the Cathars were known as the “Bons Hommes” — the Good People. Today, we revive this timeless ideal of noble character, divine wisdom, and selfless action.

Spiritual Grounding • Our Mission
The Principle of Divine Goodness
At the heart of their spiritual understanding was the recognition of a loving God and a Divine Principle of Goodness — and the sacred responsibility of human beings to bring this goodness into the world through the way they think, speak, and act.
The same timeless principle echoes through the ancient Zoroastrian tradition: Good Thoughts. Good Words. Good Deeds. Across cultures and throughout the ages, humanity has preserved this simple yet profound wisdom:
“Goodness is not merely an idea. It is a way of being.”
Now, as humanity enters a new chapter — the dawn of the Golden Age — we believe the time has come to revive this ideal.
Les Bons Hommes is a community beyond borders, cultures, and traditions. United by Divine Wisdom, Divine Love, and the Brotherhood of Mankind. People who choose to serve God, mankind, and creation.
We do not claim to be perfect. We simply choose to become better — and to make goodness a living force in the world.
In Love, Light and Service,

Historical Roots • The Living Laurel
Les Bons Hommes — The Good People
In historical Occitania, men and women served equally as spiritual guides, teachers, and exemplars of righteousness — holding steadfast to their sacred faith of divine love, spiritual purity, and non-violence.
The Sacred Occitan Prophecy
“Al cap dels sèt cens ans, verdejarà lo laurel.”
“At the end of seven hundred years, the laurel shall grow green again.”
In March 1244 at the mountain citadel of Montségur, over two hundred Bons Hommes sealed their testament of peace and goodwill into history. Today, we do not claim institutional succession, but a living revival: honoring their timeless heritage by awakening the spirit of goodness, conscious brotherhood, and constructive service in the modern era.

Clarifications & Heritage
Frequently Asked Questions
Key clarifications regarding our heritage, principles, structure, and commitments.
Les Bons Hommes is an international community of people who strive to live according to high ideals and the divine principle of Goodness. We are connected through Divine Wisdom, Divine Love, Divine Understanding and Divine Compassion for all beings and for the whole of creation.
“Les Bons Hommes” means “good people.” The term was historically used in France to describe the Cathars and their commitment to goodness in attitude, character and behavior.
No. Les Bons Hommes is neither a religion, a specific tradition nor a philosophy. It is a community of people dedicated to the divine Ideal of Goodness and to serving God, mankind and creation.
No. Les Bons Hommes is neither a secret nor an esoteric society. It is an open community of people with good intentions who seek to promote meaningful projects for the benefit of mankind and creation.
Les Bons Hommes is connected to the historical Cathars only through the guiding principle of Divine Goodness. This principle can be found at the core of many religions and spiritual traditions throughout history.
No. Les Bons Hommes is not a political organization and is independent of political parties.
Our primary purpose is to serve God, mankind and creation. To fulfill this purpose, we may initiate and maintain projects that require funding and may include economic activities or generate profits. Any such profits are intended to be reinvested into new projects and into the support of people and nature.
God, Good and Goodness are naturally connected, reflecting the understanding that God is good by nature. The term God represents the Source of Life, the Divine itself, the Highest, the Great Spirit, Cosmic Consciousness, the One, the Light, Akasha, or the one Self that can be found in all beings. Our understanding of God is therefore not limited to any religion or belief system.
Divine Goodness expresses the understanding that God is good and that divine love and nourishment embrace all of us as children of the Divine, as everything emanates from God into existence. It is our responsibility to understand this spiritual principle and to bring it into our lives on Earth. Divine Goodness emphasizes the principle of unity underlying the diversity of creation.
Our values follow the laws of creation and are derived from the Divine Source (the state of unity). Divine Unity underlies, nourishes and organizes the diversity of creation and its creatures. It expresses itself through Divine, All-Embracing Love, Divine Wisdom, Divine Harmony and Divine Order, as well as through the conscious application of the Divine Laws. In the human microcosm, these principles are expressed through virtues, balance, maturity and a profound understanding gained through life experience.
Wisdom is the ability to distinguish quality from quantity and light from darkness. It is a virtue of mature souls. Wisdom also means understanding the laws of creation and knowing how to apply them wisely in life. We regard Wisdom as the crown of human development, enabling a happy, successful and fulfilled life in harmony with oneself, God, mankind and creation.
Goodness means consciously thinking, feeling, behaving and serving in the name of Goodness, while collaborating with others for the benefit of all. Goodness is not about appearing morally superior or judging others. It means consciously choosing thoughts, words and actions that contribute to life, dignity, harmony, understanding and the well-being of others.
From a spiritual perspective, mankind is one great family because we all come from the same Source. The principle of unity reminds us to treat one another as brothers and sisters with love, understanding, and compassion, and to work together for the prosperity of all. We believe that the emerging Golden Age will remind mankind of this fundamental unity and inspire us to build a more harmonious and prosperous world together.
No. Goodness is the divine core of all true teachings, independent of culture or tradition. If you feel genuinely dedicated to the principle of Goodness, embodying Wisdom, Love, Understanding, and Compassion for all beings, you are welcome in our community.
No. The Brotherhood of Mankind transcends specific beliefs and traditions. We are committed to God and the laws of creation rather than to any particular human authority, religion or tradition.
Men and women of legal age are welcome to join if they identify with the values of our community and are genuinely committed to living by them.
Not directly. If you have a well-balanced personality and a genuine motivation to grow and unfold your potential, you are welcome. Life on Earth offers us continuous opportunities for growth. We are all here to develop ourselves and expand our understanding and our capacity to act. For those who are open to personal and spiritual development, Les Bons Hommes will offer opportunities for growth in a universal, professional and balanced way.
No. No one is perfect, as we are all human. We understand perfection as a divine virtue expressed through the laws of creation, and particularly through the principle of harmony. We strive toward this ideal while accepting the natural imperfection of human nature. This does not justify or excuse harmful or unacceptable behavior. Rather, we recognize that personal development is a continuous and conscious process of continuous improvement (Kaizen).
The ideals of our community go hand in hand with unconditional respect for the free will of every member. This also applies to participation in activities and projects, as well as to the decision to leave the community. As members are dedicated to serving God, mankind and creation, good communication, constructive collaboration and brotherly behavior are regarded as natural standards for the well-being and prosperity of the community.
As an individual member, you decide how deeply you wish to participate in the different areas of community life. These may include: Community, Networking, Meetings, Personal and Spiritual Development, Projects, Service, Teaching, and Optional activities.

As the community develops, a council of experienced and wise members will support the process of finding the best solutions. The council will operate with transparency toward all members.
No. Every member is free to walk their own individual path in life. Les Bons Hommes does not require members to follow a particular spiritual teacher or adopt a specific personal belief system.
Divine Wisdom is the guiding principle in all important questions. A council of wise and experienced members will support the community in finding the best solutions. The council will strive to act transparently and in the best interest of the community and its ideals.
Misunderstandings and conflicts can arise in any community. As we are dedicated to Wisdom, Compassion and Understanding, we seek to address disagreements constructively and professionally, with respect for the dignity and perspective of everyone involved.
Individual perspectives and opinions are respected. If a disagreement does not involve a violation of the laws of creation or the fundamental ideals of the community, it is not a problem. Solutions should be sought professionally, with mutual respect and appreciation for different perspectives.
We strive to embody our ideals in everything we do. In addition, we establish high professional standards for communication, interaction and the implementation of our projects in order to achieve the best possible results and experience for everyone involved.
We support projects that serve God, mankind and creation. This includes, in particular, supporting the personal development of people (including healing and education), helping people improve their life circumstances, and supporting nature in its recovery and protection.
